So if you have any more, keep a close eye on it as it can turn into yellow flowers in just a couple of days.

You asked the quesetion about my pumpkins - and me picking them as they were getting too big.

The answer to that is that I have lots of pumpkings. The ones I picked are very big, and as there are only the two of us we do get too many. I still have loads left on the plants - I tend to grow them as weed suppressant - and we also store some over the winter, and I roast them, and cook up all sorts of concoctions and freeze them into ready meals. So I will of course have some giant ones too - just wanted some smaller ones - the skin isn't quite to thick on them then

Thank you so much for visiting my blog - you have a wonderful harvest and really are doing well.

The leaf you revealed in your photo - looks like a radish - but it's hard to judge as there is nothing to 'scale' it by. It would normally poke out of the soil a bit. It also looks a bit like a turnip leaf - but if you didn't scatter and of those seeds then it's bound to be a radish. I would have thought that if you scattered seeds that you would have quite a lot more and near each other too. It looks very healthyAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17243672302584272760noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8844705779820923896.post-47958819730313129182011-08-16T14:59:28.300+01:002011-08-16T14:59:28.300+01:00We've had loads of runner beans, and I've ...We've had loads of runner beans, and I've frozen some. I grew my cabbage seeds in my mini greenhouse, put them out to harden off and then planted them. Every one has been eaten by those blasted pigeons!!! But I've got a couple of lovely little yellow pumpkins coming along slowly (about the size of ping-0pong balls).xxAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
